Kris Erickson
Kris is the owner and licensed general contractor of Methow Construction. Like many general contractors, he has a couple of decades of construction experience under his tool belt.
He was born and raised in the Methow Valley, and is the 4th generation of his family to work in the trades. In fact, some of the structures his grandfather and great grandfather built still stand today.
In the early 1900s, his great grandfather Sullivan help build the road up Winthrop's Pool Hall Hill. That road is now called Bridge Street and runs from the center of town past Three Fingered Jack's Saloon northeast up to Bluff Street.
Kris developed a strong work ethic at a young age working with his grandfather on his farm. Together they built barns, put up fences, changed irrigation lines, and fixed the equipment when it broke down.
Working a farm with limited resources taught him to think creatively. As Kris grew, so did his skill to tackle tough problems and resolve them quickly with good results.
Kris got into construction in 1999 as an entry level laborer, and began to work his way up. Over the next two decades while working for some of the most respected builders in the Methow, he learned how to:
Assist clients through the plan preparation process.
Help move plans efficiently through review with local health, planning, and building departments so building permits approvals won’t be delayed.
Excavate a site for installation of utilities (water, sewer/septic, power), and construction of the building.
Prep the site for footings/foundations and pour them.
Rough frame the building.
Install asphalt shingle, metal sheet panel, or built-up roofing.
Install interior finishes including flooring, cabinets, doors casings, window trim, custom built-ins, countertops and appliances.
Tile showers and install heated floor systems.
Ensure each project passes final inspection and the certificate of occupancy is issued in a timely manner.
